Hello everyone! This is an author’s note from me, Liz, the author. And creator/producer/writer/voice of Paired. It’s been quite a year!

Before I get into a slew of thank yous, the business: we’re going to be taking a few weeks off to get into production mode to bring you the latter half of season three. This is for many reasons, but mainly because Liz simply ran out of time in December. We’ll be keeping the feed alive with Friday releases of extra content/music, and will give you the heads up when new episodes arrive.

This year has been incredible for Paired. We’ve had some pretty huge growth, with our weekly listenership up by a whopping 276% since this time last year. That’s...amazing. Thank you so much through your support throughout this entire devilment of a year.

Thank you so much to MJ, who has shepherd the show through ground we’ve never walked on before, and has done so with creativity, talent, and a condstantly bright attitude. THANK YOU MJ, you are the BEST.

Thank you to all our guests so far this season, including, deep breath: @rdigiorgi, @MisterSniffen, @hallublin, and @brookebreit!

i@sarahjoyshockey, @janetvarney, @filupmolina, @Addison_Peacock, @coff33detective, @TylerADav, @daymanroyster88…Thank you all, we couldn’t have done it without you.

Thank you to Fable and Folly, our business partners, WIl Williams and Lauren Passell, One Shot, Campaign, Arcade Audio, Adrian Theuma, Nate DuFort,, and all of the other wonderful friends of the show that have helped us get this far.

The future of Paired is very bright, and I’m looking forward to the possibilities of a  Season Four after we wrap up the storyline of the current season. Before I go, I do want to talk about sort of, I don’t know, the mission of the show.

As we go into the new year, we carry with us a new recognition of the flaws in what we think of as our institutions. Some of you may have noticed that in Paired, we don’t really interrogate the not-insignificant darker side of tech, especially modern tech.

I want to make clear that Paired is a wish fulfillment fantasy, in which technology tries, actively, to help us. In which the creations of institutions can operate with a moral code of their own. In the real world, we know that tech is only as moral as those who wield it. And I think all of you know how to wield your individual powers effectively.

My hope with paired is to emphasize the lessons learned about tech, the advances we make, are only effective when used in partnership with the needs of community, with open dialogue of “how can I help you right now.” The progress we make towards the light in the next few months will be hard work, but I hope that the burden will be made easier by each of us turning to each other, and asking, “How can I help?” I’ll try, and I hope you will too.

Happy New Year, everyone. Love you lots. Be safe, be healthy, and I’ll talk to you soon.
